Join us for a traditional service with the organ and hymns.
During this special service we will remember those who we know have died during the last couple of years. At an appropriate moment in the service each person is remembered by name and an opportunity is given to light a candle in remembrance. Everyone is welcome to this service and if you would like someone mentioned by name during the service please let Alan know.
The beatitudes are recognised as being ‘among the highest expressions of religious insight and moral inspiration. We can savour them, affirm them, meditate on them, and engrave them on plaques to hang on our walls.’ However, the real challenge is how do we live them? How are we to live well under God’s blessing?
At Strathmore Road Methodist Church we believe that the beatitudes are essential for our understanding and to know the way we should live as Christians. During November we are going to be exploring some of the beatitudes afresh. These words of Jesus can be found at the start of the Sermon on the Mount: Matthew 5.1-12. In a world full of many voices, fears, threat and change may we ground ourselves in the way of Christ.
