Children and Youth

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.

Mark 10:14-16

The Church has an active youth program with Keith (Youth Worker) and a team of dedicated volunteers. At Strathmore Road Methodist Church we are blessed with children and young people of all ages, from babies, older children to our youth, all are active in church life with many of the youth supporting the younger ones.

Sunday Club

Sunday Club

Each Sunday we run a number of different clubs for our children. On a typical Sunday our children will join us for the first part of the service, and then will leave to join their groups. Each Sunday we run four clubs, including;

Creche - Our creche is the perfect space for parents with babies and toddlers to enjoy our weekly service from the comfort of their own room. Our creche contains a number toys, books and resources for the children, as well as a live video feed so the parents can still enjoy the service. Our creche is available weekly for babies and children up to the age of three.

Bubbles - Bubbles is our group for children aged around 3 to 6. Bubbles is a fun and exciting opportunity for our younger children to play as well as explore faith through craft, story and prayer, all within a safe and nurturing environment.

X:Stream - X:Stream is our group for children aged around 6 to 10. X:Stream offers our children plenty of opportunities to explore faith through bible study, play, craft and much more. X:Stream offers our children the opportunity to explore the bigger picture of the Bible as well as to ask their questions about God, the Bible and the Church.

The Grid - The Grid is our group for older children (aged 10 and over). The Grid allows our children a chance to ask all of the BIG questions, about God, the Bible and the Church, all within a safe, nurturing and loving community

All Sunday Club workers and volunteers are DBS checked, and all children, whether regular attendees or occasional visitors are welcome to join in Sunday Club activities.
