The Church surviving under lockdown

A sign of a successful organisation is it’s ability to change and adapt according to needs. Well, our Church has excelled in this during lockdown. Online church services every week, Zoom meetings for both business and worship, Whatsapp video calls and a community Whatsapp site for emotional and social support. Those who aren’t able to be online receive their fellowship and worship using the telephone, and an amazing pastoral phone system to ensure that no one is left alone. When all this is not enough and the need is greater, then the good old fashioned visit from the Minister is there.

Your Door is Open, Open My Heart

When I come full of joy
Your door is open, open my heart.
When I come full of sorrow
Your door is open, open my heart.
When I sing and lift my hands in praise
Your door is open, open my heart.
When I’m not sure what I believe
Your door is open, open my heart.
When I’m leading the way
Your door is open, open my heart.
When I’m not sure how I got here
Your door is open, open my heart.

The Keswick Holiday 2020

‘Just walking in the rain getting soaking_ _ _’

Well you know the rest of this classic 50’s song by Johnnie Ray which became our theme song for this year’s Keswick holiday from which 78 of us have recently returned.

My Favourite Hymn

O Thou who camest from above

The pure celestial fire to  impart,

Kindle a flame of sacred love

On the mean altar of my heart!

There let it for thy glory burn

With inextinguishable blaze,

And trembling to its source return,

In humble prayer and fervent praise
