Community Food Hub 

Thanks to our partnership with Gateshead Food Partnership we have ben able to expand our weekly rescued food market.

As well as our normal supply of ‘rescued food’ from Fareshare and supermarkets we now have a small range of basic food items available to purchase at cost price.

The Gateshead Food Hub aims to make low cost food more available by bulk buying and passing the savings on to customers via a network including SRMC.

As part of a trial we are selling 12 basic items along side the rescued food which is available for a suggested donation of £3.00

The cafe at the hub is open  on Mondays from 9am and the food market and shop opens at 10.30am

Some examples of available items include:

500 gram rice was £0.72  now £0.36 per bag.
Cornflakes  £0.88 per 375 gram pack
Chicken Soup £0.63 per 400gram tin
Tomato Soup £0.55 per 400gram tin
